🚀 City of Neon Skies

In the year 2149, the city of Aurion floated above the clouds.

Its silver towers stretched into the sky, wrapped in glowing holograms that shimmered like digital waterfalls. Roads no longer touched the ground — they hovered in midair, carrying silent vehicles powered by starlight batteries. Drones drifted like mechanical birds, delivering messages and meals to the people below.

Sixteen-year-old Lira had never seen the Earth’s surface.

No one in Aurion had.

The ground had been abandoned long ago after the Great Storms swallowed entire continents. The city now survived in the sky, suspended by massive gravity engines at its core.

But one night, while exploring a restricted maintenance tunnel, Lira found something strange — an old elevator shaft labeled:

“Surface Access – Decommissioned.”

Her heart raced. The surface wasn’t supposed to exist anymore.

With trembling fingers, she restored power to the ancient lift. The doors creaked open, and for the first time in her life, Lira began descending.

The city lights faded above her. The air grew thicker. The elevator shook.

Then—silence.

The doors opened to something impossible.
