Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (115g) butter
- 1 cup (200g) sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup (40g) cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- Optional: 1/2 cup chocolate chips or chopped nuts
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch pan.
- Melt the butter, then stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
- Mix dry ingredients (cocoa, flour, salt, baking powder) in a separate bowl.
- Combine the wet and dry mixtures—don’t overmix.
- Fold in chocolate chips or nuts if using.
- Pour into pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes. The center should be slightly soft for fudgy brownies.
- Let cool before slicing (if you can wait!).
Tips for Extra Deliciousness
- Slightly underbake for gooey brownies.
- Add a pinch of espresso powder to deepen the chocolate flavor.
