The Lonely Castle

Upon a hill where shadows sleep,
A lonely castle stands so deep,
Its towers worn by wind and rain,
Its halls still whisper ancient pain.

The ivy climbs the broken stone,
As if the walls are not alone,
Yet silence rules each empty room
Beneath the silver moonlit gloom.

Long ago, with candles bright,
The castle danced with joy and light,
But time, like winter’s bitter hand,
Turned laughter into drifting sand.

Now ravens circle in the sky,
And restless clouds go drifting by,
While through the gates the cold winds call
Like ghosts that wander through the hall.

Still in the dark, a fire glows,
A secret that the castle knows,
For hidden deep where memories lie,
Old dreams refuse to fade and die.

So travelers pause and softly say
The lonely castle waits each day,
Not just for kings or battles grand—
But for a heart to understand.
